Sam the Samba Man (Feat. Alessandra Rose)

by Mr. and Mrs. Muffins + Lonely Benson

Call it fate, happenstance, divine intervention, or just plain old luck...

When Mr. Muffins discovered Lonely Benson's music, it was love at first listen. Upon further investigation, Mr. Muffins realized that Lonely Benson lived less than 10 minutes from the "Muffin Shack" in Seattle. Astounded by the good fortune, Mr. Muffins wrote an email to Lonely Benson. Shortly after, they were collaborating on music.

This cover of The RAH Band classic, "Sam the Samba Man," is their first collaboration and was originally intended for the Fadeawayradiate Records compilation "Cruise Control: A Yacht Rock Cover Comp." However, it wasn't quite "yacht" enough, so Lonely Benson and Mr. & Mrs. Muffins recorded a smooth version of Craig Ruhnke's AOR jam, "Give Me the Night Time" instead.

You can hear that track here:

We were joined by our long-time collaborators and friends, Alessandra Rose (lead vocal), Joey Walbaum (Fender Rhodes and Synth Solo), and Tyler Lewis (drum programming) to help the track reach its full potential. We hope that you enjoy this labor of love, and we hope that this song whets your appetite for the upcoming Mr. and Mrs. Muffins LP.

Love, Dreams, Memories, and Samba!
